Kampong Kapor Methodist Church (KKMC) is a Methodist church located in Singapore’s Little India district. Founded in 1894, we are one of the first Peranakan churches and the fourth Methodist church to be established in Singapore.
Founded in 1894, KKMC is one of the first Peranakan churches and the fourth Methodist church to be established in Singapore. During its early years, the church catered to the Peranakan or Straits-born Chinese, with services conducted in Baba Malay in a building located on 155 Middle Road.

Sep 1, 2017 · Kampong Kapor Methodist Church (KKMC), the fourth-oldest Methodist church in Singapore, was founded on 25 Jan 1894 by the Rev William Shellabear and Miss Sophia Blackmore. It held worship services conducted in the Peranakan-Malay language at a building at 155 Middle Road.
By 1952, the church had become the second largest English-speaking Methodist Church in Singapore with 1,000 members. In 1957, recognising that it catered to a broader congregation than just the Straits Chinese, it took on its current name of Kampong Kapor Methodist Church.
