The film was directed by Boaz Davidson, and is a remake of his 1978 Israeli film Lemon Popsicle, which features a similar plot. Lemon Popsicle had been produced by Yoram Globus and Menahem Golan , who had then recently acquired the American film distribution company Cannon Films . [1]
