The result of Chow’s “Eureka!” moment was Game of Death II, a sequel that utilizes even more footage of Bruce Lee to create an all-new, largely incoherent narrative. The film, alternatively known as Tower of Death, brings back Billy Lo, once again portrayed by a pairing of returning actor Kim Tai-Chung and old footage of Bruce Lee.
The Story So Far. Before his death in 1973, Bruce Lee shot about 30 usable minutes of footage for a project called The Game of Death.In 1978, his home studio, Golden Harvest, used about seven minutes of that footage as the basis for Game of Death, a movie that was marketed as Bruce Lee's last, and in which "Bruce Lee" was mostly mostly played by unconvincing doubles.
It's like the makers weren't even trying to make a realistic film. For instance, at the funeral of his martial arts master, Lee sees a helicopter come down with a cage to steal the coffin! After jumping on to the cage he is shot with a poisoned dart and plummets to his death. Just one incredible scene out of many.
