Peoples Park is probably the oldest park in Urumqi. It is easily reached by bus or taxi. Our hotel was within walking distance and we strolled the park a few times in the afternoon. The northern entrance to the park reminded us of the Shaanxi Mosque design. We had to go through the security checks before entering the park.
