About Us. Our History. 14 May 1970 was a milestone in the development of education in Singapore. Officially opened by the then Prime Minister Mr. Lee Kuan Yew, National Junior College started off as the pioneer College in the Republic and our system has been the model for the junior colleges established in successive years.

National Junior College (NJC) is a government junior college located in Bukit Timah, Singapore. Established in 1969, it was the first government junior college in Singapore. NJC offers a two-year course for pre-university students and a six-year Integrated Programme, both leading to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level examinations.
National Junior College (NJC) admitted its first batch of students on 20 January 1969 and was officially opened by then Prime Minister Mr Lee Kuan Yew on 14 May 1970. It was set up as the ‘College of the Nation’ and took in students from all language streams.

Jun 22, 2011 · National Junior College (NJC) was opened in 1969 as Singapore’s first junior college. It moved to its current location on Hillcrest Road in July 1995. Originally situated at Linden Drive, NJC is the first specialised government school to be established for the nation’s top pre-university students.
