  1. Jun 16, 2017 · Cars 2 feels like a spin-off, but Cars 3 felt like the third film of a trilogy. Going from Lighting being a rookie to him being so called "old" in the direct sequel is jarring. Reply reply

  2. Sep 24, 2019 · Cars 3 actually feels like a very natural and logical extension of Lightning McQueen's character development from the first movie. It's an actual continuation of his character growth, rather than a repeat with some new faces (Incredibles II), or a completely unrelated story that happens to have the same characters (Monsters U, Finding Dory).

  3. Apr 6, 2022 · To preface this, the original Cars was the first film I ever saw in a cinema. I'm not kidding, it was literally the first ever movie I saw in the cinemas back in 2006 and I love it with all my heart. In my opinion, the ending of Cars 3 was perfect.

  4. Having said that, Cars 3 simply doesn't match the quality of Coco, Inside Out, Finding Dory, and so on up the list. 6. Nov 4, 2023 · Cars 1 is the best. Cars 2 is my fav and is the most entertaining (personally). And Cars 3 is a pile of shit (even though it is a better sequel to the first movie than the second. The whole spy thing in 2 is fun but is really unnecessary. And 3 is more like cars 3)

  7. Nov 12, 2017 · So I should have written this post in July, but I'm gonna do it now. I was at the theater watching Cars 3. The whole time I was thinking even though Lightning is old and everyone thinks he can't race anymore, he will beat Jackson Storm. But in the end, he quits and gives his position to Cruz Ramirez. When this happened, I felt so empty inside.

  9. With Cars (1) it's just a story that takes place in a place that feels natural for vehicles to exist in. Cars 2 had none of the metaphors at all. Cars 3, seems to be using the idea of what a car is rather than the setting as the foundation of its story.
