Ironic as Damien Hardwick was nearly sack in the end of 2016. Richmond wins 3 flags in the next 4 years in 2017 , 2019 and 2020. I think by 2021, Hardwick knew Richmond were past their peak. Hardwick doesnt owe richmond anything, he got 3 flags. Saying that, Wasnt Mark "Bomber" Thompson in a similiar situation at the end of 2010?
Jan 1, 2006 · Hardwick understood that a coach is only as good as the playing list and knew Richmond’s list needed a rebuild that would take years. GC, with their academy picks, are drowning in AFL largesse and a half decent coach will take them to the top of the ladder.
Jun 22, 2009 · As for Damien Hardwick, I am eternally grateful for the 3 flags, but I really feel he did the dirty on us. When things got a bit difficult, instead of rolling up his sleeves and trying to fix things, he took the easy way and baled out early. I’m sure he already knew he had the GC job lined up.

Neil Craig as a crows coach from 2004-2011 had a decent 56.7% win percentage.... I assure you many crows fans would trade a lot for a win in the 2006 prelim final and 2006 grand final.
