Florina (Greek: Φλώρινα, Flórina; known also by some alternative names) is a town and municipality in the mountainous northwestern Macedonia, Greece. Its motto is, 'Where Greece begins'. [3] The town of Florina is the capital of the Florina regional unit and also the seat of the eponymous municipality.

Flórina, city and dímos (municipality), West Macedonia (Modern Greek: Dytikí Makedonía) periféreia (region), northwestern Greece. Originally a Byzantine foundation, it later passed to Ottoman control; by the 18th century, its population was chiefly Turkish and Albanian.
