George Elmer Pataki (/ p ə ˈ t ɑː k i /; born June 24, 1945) is an American politician who served as the 53rd Governor of New York from 1995 to 2006. He previously served in the State Legislature from 1985 to 1994, and as the Mayor of Peekskill from 1981 to 1984.

GEORGE E. PATAKI was born in Peekskill, New York and raised on his parents’ family farm. He is a 1967 graduate of Yale University and a 1970 graduate of Columbia Law School, both of which he attended on academic scholarships. Pataki served for 10 years in the New York State legislature.
