She'd run into Lavin on the street feeling dejected from losing a part and Lavin would be over the top thrilled because she got the role. Joan hated her guts.

Ironically, after Holliday left the series for her own spin-off "Flo" in 1980, she was replaced by Diane Ladd, the original Flo from the 1974 film, who played another waitress named Belle.

According to friends and acquaintances who've met her (she graduated from my alma mater), she's come to resent fans who think she's just like Flo in real life.
