Oct 6, 2022 · New York. I found my way to Ronnie's work via "Rough Mix" as well, and really like this album too. "One For The Road" and "Ronnie Lane's Slim Chance" are pretty darn good too. If you don't have it, "Mahoney's Last Stand" is pretty good too, although largely instrumentals - the album was made with Ronnie Wood for a movie. Lynd8, Oct 6, 2022. #2.

He did a superb job curating, hunting down lost material, and keeping the quality at the highest possible level (remember our subject, Ronnie Lane, famously used the SAME TAPE for several back to back albums; that tells you so much).
Nov 25, 2007 · Leaving the Faces was the best thing that ever happened to him musically, imo -- his biggest legacy is his solo work between 1973-1979 (and Rough Mix). It was, however, disastrous for him financially, with MS the final financial blow. So true. Somebody needs to start a Ronnie Lane album-by-album thread.
