  1. Aug 8, 2007 · On his own, I would highly recommend: "Ronnie Lane's Slim Chance" A&M SP-3638, "Anymore For Anymore" GM L-1013, and "One For the Road" Island, ILPS 9366. But you'll have to go vinyl for them. One of the indellible concert experiences of my life was seeing Ronnie - stricken by MS - struggling on to the stage at the Palomino in Los Angeles back in the late 80's, and then giving his all in an ...

  2. Aug 19, 2020 · Unfortunately I am not familiar with Ronnie Lane outside of Pete Townshend's solo records Rough Mix and Who Came First. Rough Mix, from 1977, is one of my favorite albums period. Lane's tunes are absolutely stellar; Annie, Nowhere To Run, Cat Melody, April Fool... so glad they are part of my DNA. Rockford & Roll, Beatleboy1968, Mark E. Moon and ...

  3. Oct 6, 2022 · New York. I found my way to Ronnie's work via "Rough Mix" as well, and really like this album too. "One For The Road" and "Ronnie Lane's Slim Chance" are pretty darn good too. If you don't have it, "Mahoney's Last Stand" is pretty good too, although largely instrumentals - the album was made with Ronnie Wood for a movie. Lynd8, Oct 6, 2022. #2.

  4. Jul 28, 2004 · There’s a single disk on Arcadia Records called “Ronnie Lane’s Slim Chance” that purports to contain the contents of “Anymore” and “Slim Chance” with no bonus tracks. Edsel UK has a reissue of “Slim Chance” with some bonus cuts. There’s also an older import of “Anymore…” on See for Miles. Sound matters to me more ...

  6. Jun 4, 2019 · That's this one: Ronnie Lane - Live In Austin It's the compilation of radio sessions and live tracks from Ronnie's time in Austin TX (covering 1987-92, I think). A few cuts appear on the box alongside some outtakes from it.

  8. Oct 5, 2006 · There's some cool new audio up at the official website, www.ronnie-lane.com First is an interview that Pete Townshend did by phone with Jody Denberg at KGSR-FM in Austin on 10-2-2006 about Ronnie Lane, The Passing Show -- The Life and Music of Ronnie Lane DVD, and Rough Mix (not to mention a bit about the new Who CD, released the same day).

  9. Nov 16, 2017 · Charlie Hart served as the creative consultant, and a main interviewee for the liner notes. He did a superb job curating, hunting down lost material, and keeping the quality at the highest possible level (remember our subject, Ronnie Lane, famously used the SAME TAPE for several back to back albums; that tells you so much).

  10. Nov 25, 2007 · Leaving the Faces was the best thing that ever happened to him musically, imo -- his biggest legacy is his solo work between 1973-1979 (and Rough Mix). It was, however, disastrous for him financially, with MS the final financial blow. So true. Somebody needs to start a Ronnie Lane album-by-album thread.
