Dec 9, 2004 · That was Rose #1 played by Shirley Stelfox. She was replaced by Mary Millar from season 2 onwards. I don't know the answers to these questions, but I think Keeping Up Apparances was the best coedy on TV.
Sep 26, 2015 · Shirley Stelfox's husband was in Star Wars, of course, too! I interviewed them once and they were a very entertaining couple and she is an excellent story teller. I would have loved to see more Keeping Up Appearances but it would not be wise to return to it in a world where Keeping Up with the Kardashians is the norm.
Jul 17, 2004 · Shirley Stelfox is great. I don't often watch Edale, but I always like seeing Edna. Pursed lips, giving her a mouth like a dog's bumhole, and a very odd hat. I love comedy-pensioners. The recent story, with her decline into old age, has been very well done.

Apr 14, 2010 · Shirley Stelfox used to have long blonde hair, if that's still the case it wouldn't fit with Edna's image very well but I suppose she could have a wig Well lots of old ladies I know have long hair but wear it in a bun, so there's no reason for the hat!

Just heard this on radio 2, a real shock as I'd never even read she was ill. Absolutely gutted, I loved Edna, she was one of my favourites.
