Since we began in 2003, Food from the Heart has been committed to alleviating hunger and reducing food waste in Singapore. Our programmes, such as Bread Run, School Goodie Bag and Market Place, demonstrate our dedication to the less fortunate, from children to the elderly.
Food from the Heart is a non-profit organisation that feeds the needy through its food distribution programme. It was established in February 2003 after Singapore-based Austrian couple Henry and Christine Laimer read a report in The Sunday Times about bakeries discarding their unsold bread.
The Community Food Pack programme comprises distributions of fresh fruit, eggs and bread, as well as monthly food packs of non-perishable food items. The programme helps the less fortunate put food on the table and offset their living expenses.
Dec 31, 2021 · Food from the Heart has opened up new collaborations with 8 new community partners this year to extend our reach to more beneficiaries. We gave out more than 111,000 food packs in 2021, over 14,000 more than in 2020, while Project Belanja! saw a redemption of 59,000 meals this year.
