  2. Cons: The town of Loughborough. Its really awful. Also if you want a really big club night out you need to go to Notts really. However, it is a really good university and for sport its great, depends what you're looking for I guess.

  3. The campus itself is incredibly green with lots of trees and beautiful gardens located throughout campus. There are also numerous coffee shops, restaurants and a small convenience store located on campus. In terms of nightlife, Exeter has 5 or 6 main nightclubs that student frequent on both weekdays and weekends.

  6. No, Loughborough is not a 'bad' university. It's always been pretty good, but has increased in stature a bit in the last few years. Not bad for certain subjects (e.g. engineering). Clasically also very good if you like sport. On the negative side, the town's a bit ****.

In addition to winning overall this year, it came first in facilities, social life, campus life, extracurricular activities/societies, and obviously sporting facilities, and came 2nd for best student union, and excelled well in pretty much ...

  8. The cohort in my course's year has an above-average amount of girls for the course (~75% male, pretty low for Engineering!), so you might be lucky. The ratio of the Uni as a whole when I joined last year was 2:1 m:f which does sound daunting but in reality it's the engineering department that skews it off, as has been said.

  9. Mar 7, 2022 · Loughborough is barely a top 30 UK university, if that. Nottingham is a solid top 20 UK university, and has some of the best facilities and academic buildings of any UK university. Employers look at the THES World Rankings, not the UK Times / Sunday Times league tables or the UK Complete University Guide tables.

  10. 14. My thoughts about Loughborough: - great student union. Lots to do and get involved with if you want. - There are also enough people/committees looking out for you academically and otherwise. - good sports - but you don't have to get involved if you don't want to - most people I know don't.
