We are in the infant stage of really using SeeSaw, and there may be a better way, but the teacher experimenting with it reports this as the greatest drawback. We are using the free version.

Has the student tried contacting the local Canvas support or Canvas support directly: How do I get help with Canvas as a student? on the matter?
