I have a 1999 Jetta Wolfsburg that I bought 13 months ago used from a dealer here in CT. Now since I have owned the car, I have kept up on regular maintenance, replaced a window regulator, replaced wiring under the hood dealing with the spark plugs, replaced back bearings and shocks and a few other minor repairs.

OK i have a 95 jetta 3 GL, I have put new plugs, wires, ignition coil, dist. cap, distributor, engine speed sensor, fuel pump, maf sensor, new belts, catalytic conv., fuel filter and done an oil change on the car!

I have a 1999 Jetta Wolfsburg edition that began having intermittent starting problems over a year ago. If the car is left parked in the rain or cold for 8 hours or more, or if it is parked, nose up, on an incline for a long period of time, it will crank but not turn over until it's cranked for 5-10 minutes.

My 2003 Jetta TDI makes noises when it is traveling on uneven roads such as streets with dips or pot holes. Thought it was suspension related, maybe shocks or struts, but that is not the case. Both my mechanic and body shop technician recognize that there is a problem, but don't know a solution.

The Passat is built in Germany, but the Jetta is built in Mexico and has below average reliability. My friends with Jettas are not happy campers. Too many problems and VW charges out the wazoo for parts. The Accord probably isn't as hip as the Jetta, although the Jetta doesn't seem nearly as popular as it once was.

2000 Volkswagen Jetta, probably the 2000.5 version, its the newer style body. The driver side door was knocked into by a ConEd van a while back, but before I owned the car. The doors close normally, and everything works save for a whistle when driving on the highway with the window down.
