Admission Process. Admission Criteria. The applicant’s cognitive functioning is within the range of Mild Intellectual Disability (IQ: 50 – 70). We also admit children with mild autism who function within this IQ range.
In 2014, Metta School was one of five pilot schools for the S2W Prototype. Metta School offers special education to students with Mild Intellectual Disability (MID) and to children who have Autism (ASD), aged between 7 to 21 years.

Dec 10, 2020 · Metta School 2, run by MWA, will begin operating at its interim site at the current Metta School site from 2021. All four schools will move to their permanent sites between 2022 and 2024 and will provide up to 1,200 additional places.
Metta PreSchool @Punggol (慈光幼儿园) has been in operation since its official opening on 31 July 2010. The centre receives cases from SG Enable through referrals from hospitals. Enrolment will take place after the initial screening process is complete.
Founded in 2001, Metta School was established by Metta Welfare Association with the support of Ministry of Education (MOE) and National Council of Social Service (NCSS) offering special education to students with Mild Intellectual Disability (MID) and / or mild Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
