Jalal Talabani (Kurdish: مام جەلال تاڵەبانی, romanized: Celal Talebanî; Arabic: جلال طالباني Jalāl Ṭālabānī; 12 November 1933 – 3 October 2017) was an Iraqi politician who served as the sixth president of Iraq from 2005 to 2014, as well as the president of the Governing Council of Iraq.
