Aternos makes setting up a free Minecraft server easy and accessible. Whether you're planning to explore together as new adventurers or take on challenges as experienced players, this step-by-step guide will show you how to create and join a Minecraft server using Aternos.
To connect to your server, copy the server address and enter it in your Minecraft client, as a new server or with "Direct Connect". You can find the server address on the server page. This address includes your server port if "Cracked" is enabled in the options.

On Aternos you can share your server with your friends without giving them direct access to your account. This feature is called "Access", you can find it in the panel in the server navigation: aternos.org/access/.
Download your world. How to: Download a world from your server. Watch on. You can download your world on the "worlds" page: https://aternos.org/worlds/. Just select a world and click on "Download". After that, a zip archive with your world will be automatically downloaded from your server.
Install modpacks. Aternos offers numerous modpacks that developers publish on modded launchers like CurseForge or ATLauncher. We support modpacks from the following Launchers: CurseForge, ATLauncher and the FTB App.
