Édouard Molinaro (13 May 1928 – 7 December 2013) was a French movie director and screenwriter. He was born in Bordeaux, Gironde. He was nominated for an Academy Award. Molinaro was known for his movie La Cage aux Folles. Molinaro died on 7 December 2013 in Paris. His cause of death was of a long-illness. He was 85 years old.
Molinaro was active as a director until a few years before his death, although he had almost exclusively been producing works for television.[2] In 1996, his cinematic work was awarded the René Clair Award, a prize given by the Académie française for excellent film work.
