Jul 6, 2023 · It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Hugh A. Stoddart on July 6, 2023, at his home in Harvard. The cause of death was lung cancer. Hugh was born on October 3, 1955 in Boston, MA, as the middle child of Marion Stoddart and Hugh F. Stoddart.
Hugh Stoddart has written the screenplays for many successful films both for TV and cinema. He has adapted novels such as TO THE LIGHTHOUSE, WE THINK THE WORLD OF YOU and THE MILL ON THE FLOSS. His original work has included REMEMBRANCE, THE BIG BATTALIONS, also his new film WAITING FOR YOU.

His original work has included Remembrance, The Big Battalions and most recently Waiting for You, starring Colin Morgan and Fanny Ardant.
