A CITY IN A GARDEN—A BUSTLING METROPOLIS NESTLED IN A LUSH MANTLE OF TROPICAL GREENERY. A MORE SOPHISTICATED GREENERY PLAN. The challenge of greening a small city-state with a land area of only 700 square kilometres and a population of 4.6 million (and still growing) is space.
These include the Singapore Kopsia and Tiger Orchid, as well as birds and butterflies like the Oriental Pied Hornbill and Common Birdwing, in gardens, parks, and streetscapes around the city. By 2030, species recovery plans will be carried out for 100 plant and 60 animal species.
The Gardens captures the essence of Singapore as the premier tropical Garden City with the perfect environment in which to live and work — making Singapore a leading global city of the 21st century.
