Richard Bruce Silverman (born May 12, 1946) is the Patrick G. Ryan/Aon Professor of Chemistry at Northwestern University. His group's main focus is basic and translational research into central nervous system disorders and cancer.

Professor Richard B. Silverman is the inaugural Patrick G. Ryan/Aon Professor. Over the last 42 years at Northwestern University he has developed numerous projects related to the synthesis and evaluation of a variety of enzyme inhibitors and activators, particularly related to neurodegenerative and neurological diseases and cancer.
