Anna Soler-Pont (born 1968), is a Spanish writer. She was born in Barcelona, where she still lives. After her studies of Arab Philology, she spent some time in Cairo, and an overland trip from Barcelona to New Delhi marked her professional career.

Anna Soler-Pont founds Pontas inspired by a conversation in Cairo with Literature Nobel Prize Naguib Mahfouz (that had taken place in October 1991). She decides to become a literary agent and begins a journey overland from Barcelona to New Delhi (across Turkey, Iran and Pakistan) searching for women authors to represent internationally.

We interview Anna Soler-Pont, the founder in 1992 of the literary agency Pontas. After a journey to Cairo and a meeting with Naguib Mahfouz, her life changed and a young language student became a literary agent.
