Rouben Zachary Mamoulian (/ r uː ˈ b ɛ n m ɑː m uː l ˈ j ɑː n / roo-BEN mah-mool-YAHN; Armenian: Ռուբէն Մամուլեան; October 8, 1897 – December 4, 1987) was an American film and theater director.
