Myung Film Co., Ltd. ( Hangul: 명필름) is a South Korean film production and distribution company. History. The company was established in the Republic of Korea by Shim Jae-myung, and has distributed films throughout South Korea since its founding in September 1995.

In celebration of the commemorable twentieth birthday, ‘Myung Films Retrospective: Memories of Twenty Years’ will be held at Myung Films Art Center from July 24 to September 16, screening 36 titles that the company has produced since 1995.
From JEON Do-yeon’s The Contact (1997), IM Sang-soo’s A Good Lawyer’s Wife (2003) and The President’s Last Bang (2004), KIM Ki-duk’s The Isle (2000) to PARK Chan-wook’s Joint Security Area (2000), Myung Films is an important name in the history of contemporary Korean cinema.
