Mar 24, 2019 · NEW YORK (AP) — Larry Cohen, the maverick B-movie director of cult horror films “It’s Alive” and “God Told Me To,” has died. He was 77. Cohen’s friend and spokesman, the actor Shade Rupe, said Cohen passed away Saturday in Los Angeles surrounded by loved ones.

Biography | Larry Cohen. Born on July 15, 1941 in Washington Heights, New York. Educated at the City College of New York. In the late 1950’s he starts writing teleplays as well as scripts for TV-episodes for CBS and NBC. He meets Alfred Hitchcock in the mid-60’s and writes several treatments for him, which the director admired.
