David Chester Gibbons [1] (born 14 April 1949) [2] is an English comics artist, writer and sometimes letterer. He is best known for his collaborations with writer Alan Moore, which include the miniseries Watchmen and the Superman story "For the Man Who Has Everything".
Dave Gibbons is best known for collaborating with Alan Moore on WATCHMEN, one of the best-selling graphic novels of all time. His most recent complete work is the black and white original graphic novel from Vertigo, THE ORIGINALS, which he scripted as well as drew.

It was published monthly by DC Comics in 1986 and 1987 before being collected in a single-volume edition in 1987.
