Robert Markowitz (born February 7, 1935, in Irvington, New Jersey) is an American film and television director. He directed episodes of Serpico (1976), Delvecchio (1976-1977), and Amazing Stories (1986), and a number of television films that include A Dangerous Life (1988), Too Young to Die?

Robert Markowitz got his start as a journalist, first as a reporter for the Associated Press, then as a documentary filmmaker. His first documentary, Face of Genius (1967), about the playwright Eugene O'Neill, won an Emmy and was nominated for an Oscar.
Robert alternates sitting and standing, high energy and tranquility, music and comedy, singing and moving, well-tested original material and old favorites. His material masquerades as pure entertainment but is also aimed at teaching basic music competency, rhythmically and tonally. Robert the Guitar Guy’s musical fun for young children.
