Marion Hänsel (née Ackermann; 12 February 1949 – 8 June 2020) was a French-born Belgian film director, producer, actress and screenwriter. Her film Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea was entered into the 1995 Cannes Film Festival .

Marion Hänsel passed away on 8 June 2020 at the age of 71, leaving behind her a poetic body of work that touched everyone's soul and allowed Belgian cinema to travel beyond our borders
French-born Belgian film director, producer and screenwriter Marion HÄNSEL (1949-2020) grew up in Antwerp. She attended the French Circus School and studied at Lee Strasberg Actor’s Studio in New York and dramatic arts in Brussels and Paris, which started her career as an actress.
