Satyajit Ray (1921–1992), a Bengali film director from India, is well known for his contributions to Bengali literature. He created two of the most famous characters in Feluda the sleuth and Professor Shanku the scientist.
1) Bonku Babu, a school teacher, is often the target of jokes and pranks by his students and colleagues. 2) During a meeting discussing a sighting of lights in the sky, possibly a satellite, Bonku Babu suggests the possibility of an alien visiting Earth, specifically their village.
