Film director, producer, and author. Slatzer was best known as the author of two books about actress Marilyn Monroe, whom he claimed to have once married. After attending Ohio State University, he initially worked as a journalist, writing for such newspapers as the Columbus Dispatch.
It was Robert F. Slatzer, the noted literary critic from Columbus, Ohio, who had worked at the 20th Century-Fox studios back in 1946 and had lost his job there the same time as Marilyn. I read this book as a kid and find myself re-reading it every now and then because Slatzer's research was CRUCIAL, in that he was ON THE CASE as soon as Marilyn died.
