  1. Poli Marichal (born February 1, 1956, Ponce, Puerto Rico) is a Puerto Rican artist living in Los Angeles, California who works in illustration, painting and filmmaking. She is the daughter of painter Carlos Marichal.

  6. Poli Marichal utilizes different mediums such as printmaking, painting, mixed media, film and video to make works that explore social, personal, political and environmental issues.

  7. When Marichal moved from Puerto Rico to Los Angeles, she found a home at Self Help Graphics (est. 1970), one of the first Chicano print centers in the United States. Her dramatic linear style and linocut technique connects her work to a long history of political graphics in Mexico and Puerto Rico.
