Gualtiero Jacopetti (Italian: [ɡwalˈtjɛːro jakoˈpetti]; 4 September 1919 – 17 August 2011) was an Italian documentary film director. With Paolo Cavara and Franco Prosperi, he is considered the originator of mondo films, also called "shockumentaries".
