In 1958, at the age of just seventeen, the beautiful Jose' Greci was chosen by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer to play the role of the Virgin Mary in "Ben-Hur" which was to be filmed at Cinecitta Studios in Rome, thus assuring her of a great deal of publicity in newsreels and magazines of the day.

José Greco (né Costanzo Greco; December 23, 1918 – December 31, 2000) was an Italian-born American flamenco dancer and choreographer known for popularizing Spanish dance on the stage and screen in America mostly in the 1950s and 1960s.
José Greci was an Italian actress who played the Virgin Mary in "Ben-Hur" in 1958. She also starred in low-budget films and TV shows in the 1960s.
