Paul Alan Partain (November 22, 1946 – January 28, 2005) was an American actor, perhaps best known for his role in the original The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) as the wheelchair-user Franklin Hardesty.

Paul Alan Partain was born and raised in Georgetown, Texas, just north of Austin on May 5th, 1947. The acting bug took hold for Paul early in his childhood in junior high school doing plays and drama club. Later, he took a career in the Navy.
In 1974, Paul A. Partain played Franklin, in not only one of the first ever slasher movies (and arguably the American Granddaddy of them all), but he also played one of the subgenre's only (barring FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 2) disabled character.
