Sotigui Kouyaté (19 July 1936 – 17 April 2010) was one of the first Malian Burkinabé actors. He was the father of film director Dani Kouyaté, of the storyteller Hassane Kassi Kouyaté and of the actor Mabô Kouyaté and was a member of the Mandinka ethnic group.

Actor. 18 July 1936 to 16 April 2010. A winner of the Best Actor Award at the Berlin Film Festival, Malian Kouyaté was being recognised for his lead performance in London River (2009). He had previously worked with Peter Brook on The Mahabharata (1983), and appeared in films such as Little Senegal (2001) and Dirty Pretty Things (2002).
