Maria del Pilar Cordero (March 1, 1910 – August 2, 1998), better known as Mapy Cortés, was a Puerto Rican actress who participated in many films during the Golden Age of Mexican cinema, where she became one of the industry's most beloved and bankable stars of the 1940s.
María del Pilar Cordero, conocida como Mapy Cortés (Santurce; 1 de marzo de 1910-San Juan; 2 de agosto de 1998), fue una actriz, cantante, bailarina y vedette puertorriqueña. Participó en muchas películas durante la Época de Oro del cine mexicano , en la cual se convirtió en una de las estrellas más taquilleras de la década de 1940.
Mapy Cortés was born on 1 March 1910 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She was an actress, known for El amor las vuelve locas (1946), La corte de faraón (1944) and El sexo fuerte (1946). She was married to Fernando Cortés. She died on 2 August 1998 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
