Paul Vincent Collins (born 1956) is an American writer, author, music producer, and multi-instrumentalist. He is best known for his work in the power pop groups The Nerves, The Breakaways and The Beat. [1] Biography. Collins was born in New York City. As a child, he lived in Old Tappan, New Jersey and Manhasset, New York.
Rock icon and cult favorite Paul Collins got his start with Peter Case and Jack Lee in 1974. Their band The Nerves toured with The Ramones and recorded a song called “Hanging On The Telephone.” The song would later become a hit when covered by Deborah Harry and Blondie on the 22 million selling album Parallel Lines .
