Hilary Halba (born ca 1962) is a New Zealand actor, theatre director and academic. She is the head of the performing arts programme at the University of Otago.
Actor training. Verbatim and documentary theatre. New Zealand post colonial theatre – theory and practice. Hilary has studied acting and the teaching of acting at the prestigious Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City, and is one of New Zealand's only accredited teachers of the Meisner Technique.
Hilary’s television credits include the cornerstone ‘80s series The Marching Girls. In her other life, Hilary is Senior Lecturer and Head of Theatre Studies at the University of Otago. She has co-created several verbatim theatre pieces including Hush and Be | Longing.
