Allan Robert Border AO (born 27 July 1955) is an Australian cricket commentator and former international cricketer. A batsman, Border was for many years the captain of the Australian team , and led his team to victory in the 1987 Cricket World Cup , the maiden world title for Australia.
Allan Border was a durable and versatile cricketer who played 156 Tests and 273 ODIs for Australia, captaining the team for 93 Tests. He also coached, selected and received many awards and honors for his contributions to the game.

Allan Robert Border is an Australian cricketer who held the all-time run-scorer record in Test (international) matches from 1993 to 2005, when he was surpassed by Brian Lara. A left-handed batsman and bowler, Border grew up in Sydney and entered first-class cricket in 1977. He played his first Test.
Border was the only cricketer to have scored 150 in each innings of a Test match. He retired as the leading run scorer in history, with a whopping 11,174 from 156 appearances.
