Wataru Sakata (born March 11, 1973) is a Japanese Professional Wrestler and Mixed Martial Arts fighter. After a school Kyokushin Karate tenure, he trained for pro wrestling under Animal Hamaguchi and later joined Akira Maeda 's Fighting Network RINGS, where he became known as one of the most enthusiastic native trainees and a do-everything boy.
Wataru Sakata is a retired Japanese mixed martial artist who fought in PRIDE and UFC. He lost his only UFC fight by submission to Daniel Gracie in 2003.
