On Her Majesty's Secret Service is a 1969 spy film and the sixth in the James Bond series produced by Eon Productions. It is based on the 1963 novel by Ian Fleming. Following Sean Connery 's decision to retire from the role after You Only Live Twice, Eon selected George Lazenby, a model with no prior acting credits, to play the part of James Bond.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service is the sixth film in the James Bond film series, and the only Bond film to star George Lazenby in the main role. It was released in 1969 and was a critical and commercial success but Lazenby felt Bond would soon be outdated so he stepped out of his 7-film contract.
On Her Majesty's Secret Service is pure poetry, transcending the very idea of a Bond film. Gorgeously photographed, thrillingly executed and wonderfully performed, I adore it.
