Vassilis C. Constantakopoulos (Greek: Βασίλειος Κωνσταντακόπουλος Vassilis Constantakopoulos) 29 June 1935 - 25 January 2011) was, a Greek captain, shipowner and entrepreneur.

Captain Vassilis had been a passionate environmental activist already since the 1970s. He was one of the first members of the Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association (HELMEPA), and a founding member of HELMEPA Junior, whose exhibition is housed in the building of Costamare.

Vassilis Constantakopoulos’ skills were witnessed by his colleagues, particularly those who formed the Hellenic Marine Consortium (HMC) in 1978. In 1980, Costamare joined the HMC, while a short while later, its founder was elected as the organisation’s board secretary.
