Wikimapia (stylized as wikimapia) is a geographic online encyclopedia project. The project implements an interactive "clickable" web map that utilizes Google Maps with a geographically-referenced wiki system, with the aim to mark and describe all geographical objects in the world.
Click on the country of your choice to view the respective map. Click on the country, then the state and a specific area in the list to view the map.

May 5, 2021 · For years, I’ve used Wikimapia as a tool to explore the world. Unfortunately, I think time has passed the site by, many links are dead and comments seem to increasingly be from years ago. I don’t think they update the pictures either.
