Herschell Gordon Lewis (1926-2016) was a pioneer of gore cinema, known for his low-budget horror movies such as Blood Feast, The Wizard of Gore, and The Gore-Gore Girls. He also wrote books on advertising, sang the theme song of Two Thousand Maniacs, and directed a 2017 sequel to Blood Feast.
