Janusz Marian Majewski (5 August 1931 – 10 January 2024) was a Polish movie director and screenwriter. He directed over 40 movies from 1957 until 2015. Majewski died on 10 January 2024 at the age of 92.
Jan 19, 2024 · Janusz Majewski, who died on 10th January aged 92, was one of the last of the old guard of Polish directors who emerged in the 1950s. He was part of a generation of filmmakers that put Poland firmly on the cinematic map.
Janusz Majewski graduated from the Directing Department of the State Higher School of Theatre and Film in Łódź in 1960. In the years 1969–1991 he lectured at our School and was the artistic supervisor of many student films.
