    Hiroko "Hiro" Usuda (ウスダヒロ, Usuda Hiro) is a freelance illustrator. She is best known for her work on Silent Hill 3 and Silent Hill 4: The Room.

    Hiro Usuda was born on March 15, 1979 in Nagano Prefecture, Japan. She grew up in a rural area where video games, anime and manga were not accepted. Drawing and imagining fantasy worlds helped her through her difficult school days. Inspired by video game art, she studied Illustration at Chiyoda Institute of Technology and Art.

    Usuda joined Konami in April 1999. The first game she worked on was Elder Gate as 3DCG designer. She later joined Silent Hill 3, where she designed the backgrounds for the Central Square Shopping Center and the Chapel. She was also in charge of illustrating the myths. Although not credited, she was also responsible for the lighting work, where she discovered that two parallel lights could create a "beautiful real-time rendering".
