In 1980, Kim Man-seob is a debt-laden widower who works as a taxi driver in Seoul. Overhearing another taxi driver bragging about a 100,000 won job to bring a foreign client to Gwangju, Man-seob steals the client, unaware of the events in Gwangju.
Based on the true story of German reporter Jürgen Hinzpeter and Korean taxi driver Kim Sa-Bok. Jürgen Hinzpeter covered the Gwangju Uprising, which took place from May 18-27, 1980 in Gwangju, South Korea.
