Synopsis. With the help of her family, Marjorie Lawrence sneaked out of the family farm in Winchelsea to participate in an opera contest and won. She was given credentials and a letter of introduction and went to France to study with famous opera coach Madam Cécile Gilly.
Thomas takes Marjorie out, and as they celebrate her opening with dancing and champagne, they begin to fall in love. Thomas tells her he has just completed a year's research at the Sorbonne and is about to return to the States to work at a children's hospital in New York City.
